Syllabus

The information required to progress in HGMS is contained within a carefully laid out syllabus, that offers students piece of mind that their training will be structured. Students can see below the testing sheets that every student will learn leading up to earning their Black Belt. Note that these are intended as a guide for each level, however gradings are not limited to what is outlined.

Remember – every student is different and will progress at their own pace, building upon prior knowledge and skill in doing so. What you learn as a beginner may, at first, seem basic but it is this that forms the fundamental foundation of your training, preparing you to advance through the ranks. Everything you learn will stay with you throughout your time in HGMS

All Colour Belt testings are carried out within the Dojang and are held every 3-4 months. To be eligible for promotion, a student must show good knowledge, understanding and the level of technical skill required for the relevant syllabus material. However, more importantly, they must demonstrate a good attitude, good etiquette both in and out of class and maintain a good attendance record at classes. Black Belt testings are held at the Dojang, but also externally at National Testings in front of a panel of Masters.
